Takia Lamb obtained her BA in Psychology from Spelman College and her MSW from GA State University. She spent the first ten years of her professional career working in both case management and nonprofit management. While working full-time, Takia started her own design agency that supports business owners with various business solutions, included Photography.
She has four children and has experienced four very different births. Regrettably, she’s only had one birth with the support of a doula and it was her last and final birth. Her decision to pursue her DONA doula certification was finalized with the realization that she would not have been able to get through her last birth without her doula. Even after feeling like having a doula during her fourth birth was unnecessary, her life was forever transformed.
Takia started The Mommy Doulas Collaboration after completing her DONA training in 2020. She is excited to create a community of doulas that supports mothers through birth.
Takia is married to an amazing writer, Ro Lamb, and four beautiful boys, “Trio”, Kingston, Zion, and Austin. Although she chose unmedicated births for herself, she believes that a every woman should have the option to choose what’s best for her.
Takia is currently a certifying doula.
